Cape Cod Whaler Defenseman Brian Grant has signed his NAHL tender with the Rochester Jr. Americans. Grant has been a terrific two-way defenseman throughout his three years with the Whalers and helped the 2019-2020 U15 Whalers win a state title. Here is what U18 coach David Franzosa had to say about Grant's overall game: "Brian's game all feeds off his unreal skating. There is never a player on the ice that has better skating ability than Brian. So, based on this, he is the type of player who can get to spots quickly, can keep his gaps tight, and win puck races and puck battles. He can play in all situations - even strength, power play, and penalty kill- and is a great teammate. I think the ceiling for Brian in this game can be very high." Grant played prep hockey at Noble and Greenough, where he had an outstanding senior season with seven goals and eleven assists in twenty-seven games while serving as a team captain, where his team advanced to the Elite Eight. Grant will begin the transition to junior hockey in the fall, but there are no worries he can adapt to the next level. "Brian's abilities are off the charts. His skating is D1 caliber, and his shot and overall skill set is top-notch. He has very good size and is really strong on his skates. These attributes will translate nicely into the NAHL." said Franzosa.

The Whalers organization congratulates Brian Grant for signing his NAHL tender and wishes him luck at the junior level.
